Mima Roosan was a Mima for the Kingdom of Anoun.

History[]

For a long time, Mima Roosan led the Tirnanese fae of Anoun at the Mimasery at Mount Elatha. It wasn't until that Kingdom was under attack by The Pact that she was forced to flee, eventually being killed on her way to the city of Kaer Sidhe.[1]

The Great War of Tirnanoc[]

A fleet of Burguish soldiers lead by Philo, Darius, and Winshaw approach a faerie kingdom. They are greeted by Mima Roosan and an entire community of faeries. Per the terms of the Tain Treaty, they’ve come to commandeer the kingdom for use in defense of their lands.

After learning from Vignette that Philo found the sacred library, Mima Roosan questions if he will keep his word about not telling anyone about the library. Vignette isn’t sure, claiming he’s "faan-troigh", and you can never be certain with their kind. From here on out, Vignette will be keeping a close eye on Philo.

Mima Roosan and Winshaw get word that Fort Sovereign were hit by the Pact. They’d been advancing further everyday. Many are wounded. They’ll need blood. All types. They’re quite a distance away. While fae blood may be of no help to the wounded soldiers, they can at least fly the blood over. They could have relief there within hours. With that, Winshaw orders every able-bodied man to the front to donate blood.

Mima Roosan, Philo, Darius, and Winshaw learn that the Pact have taken the capital. The whole front had collapsed, forcing them to evacuate. The Republic of the Burgue are going home, much to Philo’s dismay. As they evacuate, Mima Roosan instructs Vignette to seal the library.

As the Pact airships approach, they shoot the Wing Brigade out the sky and then begin attacking the kingdom directly, bombing the land, killing many. Philo approaches Mima Roosan and asks her to lie and tell Vignette that he was killed in the attack. Vignette collapse to the ground at word of Philo’s demise. She’s distraught. As Philo and Darius lead their men to safety, Vignette attempts to return to her fallen kingdom in search of him, but Nefrie and Mima Roosan fly her away to safety.[2]

Shortly afterwards, the three landed in the woods near the Mimasery, watching the building burn down. Mima Roosan started to advise them to keep moving due to the present danger, but then two Pact soldiers suddenly emerged, barely missing Mima Roosan. One of the soldiers managed to hit the fleeing Nefrie, incurring Vignette's rage, leading her to fly up and use her knife to kill the two soldiers. With Nefrie presumably dead, Mima Roosan and Vignette continued onwards, encountering more dead fae and evidence of Pact attacks in their path.[1]

Eventually, the two encountered a group of Fae survivors. Their group leader Niran was initially reluctant to have them accompany them until another member pointed out that Roosan was a Mima and that they could spare food for them. Mima Roosan then explained the circumstances that they had come from. Later, Mima Roosan spoke to Vignette, advising her that Philo had desired to save her, letting her live out the rest of her days. Vignette questioned the quality of the life left for her, which prompted Mima Roosan to question whether Vignette had anything left to drive her and fight for. Vignette then answered that vengeance was the only thing left for her. Mima Roosan cautioned her about this insight, stating that reprisal would not bring Philo back from the dead. Instead she advised Vignette to seek out hope, not necessarily for herself but for helping others.[1]

As the group resumed their journey, Mima Roosan learned from Niran that they were heading for Kaer Sidhi, supposedly the last free city. Upon further questioning, Niran revealed to Roosan that he wasn't actually the group's leader but a Sparrowhawk, someone who guides the fae to safety for a price. The group then became aware of a nearby Pact patrol. Despite their best attempts to go unseen, a member accidentally sprung a trap, causing his death and alerting the Pact patrol. One by one, the group members were hunted. Mima Roosan attempted to reassure a little fae girl named Lula as they ran, but they were quickly ambushed by a Marrok, who mauled Mima Roosan. Vignette intervened at some point, killing the Marrok, but too late to save Mima Roosan. With her last few words, Mima Roosan advised Vignette not to mourn her as it was her time. She also told her that she shouldn't waste her efforts on petty vengeances, telling her that Saint Titania called her to a higher calling, one where Vignette would act as a protector and shepherd for the fae kind. Mima Roosan then passed away.[1]
